The Laryngoscope

Created: 30/8/2003

This is an instrument used to perform laryngoscopy. The first direct-vision instrument was invented by Alfred Kirstein (German laryngologist 1863-1922) and was later developed by Chevalier Jackson (US laryngologist 1865-1958). The technique was further refined by Ivan Magill and Robert Reynolds Macintosh (click here).
